Immediately after purchase we spent several months on a major refit, upgrades, and maintenance to prepare “Lucero” for heading to the Caribbean and beyond. Two months into the journey, our children were not acclimating to the lifestyle like we had hoped.
Mid-winter season, we had a family meeting in George Town Exuma and decided to head home. While this is devastating to our dream, it was best for our family. We never had any intention of coming home early so we spared no expense on this boat and cut zero corners, as my family’s safety and comfort was paramount.

2025/2026 Upgrades: - Brand new Hydrant Main Sail and Jib, all new running rigging, new forestay, Code Zero reinforcement and Velcro patches to prevent unfurling, changed from square top main to high roach pin top to eliminate Lagoon chafe issues, added chafe protection to main halyard, swapped to Tylaska H2O 2:1 to eliminate chafe and moving parts on the main.
