This 2001 Silverton 42 Convertible has been owned by the same owner since 2004. It has always been kept in a covered slip and the owner has always kept up with engine and vessel maintenance. It is powered by the preferred Cummins 450 HP Diamond Series diesels with only 997 hours. These engines have always been serviced on schedule and the coolers serviced at the prescribed intervals. The 8 KW Kohler generator has received the same attention to service and will power all the systems onboard.
Four Reel has the factory hardtop with a full eisenglas enclosure. The well designed bridge offers a separate Captain and companion chair aft of the helm with plenty of guest seating forward of the helm console. It is well equipped with Garmin radar, Garmin GPS chartplotter/bottom sounder and Simrad autopilot. There is a Fusion stereo at the helm as well. Access to the bridge is from the cockpit via molded fiberglass steps which are much easier to use than traditional ladders found on most convertible vessels.
The cockpit is very large for entertaining or fishing activities and has a large transom door located on the starboard side for easy access to the swim platform on the transom. A hot/cold shower is located in the cockpit next to the transom door. There is a removable rocket launcher/rod holder in the center of the cockpit and tackle drawers and sink are located forward on the starboard side of the cockpit. There are rod holders located in the gunnels and overhead on the aft bridge railing. The 50 amp shorepower cord is located on the port side and has an electric Glendenning Cablemaster system. There is a large access hatch in the aft portion of the cockpit that has a lift out storage bin with direct access to the lazarette beneath. Another hatch located forward in the cockpit offers direct access to the engine room and the lazarette. Molded in fiberglass steps port and starboard lead to the wide non-skid sidedecks offering passage forward to the bow.
Moving forward to the bow there are secure stainless grab rails for safe passage. The entire deck on the bow is non-skid. A rarity on this model is a low profile davit mounted on the port side of the deck to lift the tender from its' chocks on deck, over the bow rail and into the water. It is electric and makes handling the tender quite easy. There is currently a 10ft 6in rigid hull inflatable with a 15 HP Yamaha on the bow. Forward of the dinghy is the electric windless for the anchor.
The salon is entered through sliding doors from the cockpit. There are large windows with mini blinds and the forward windshield allows plenty of light in or there is a windshield cover for privacy and heat reduction. Directly to starboard when entering is a sofa that pulls out into a bed. There is a table and a large u-shaped dinette located all the way forward and slightly to port. On the port side upon entering is the entertainment center with TV and stereo with storage cabinet and electric control panel forward of the entertainment center. There is concealed overhead rod storage and the entire salon is carpeted.
Moving forward on the starboard side and two steps down is the galley. The galley has abundant overhead and under counter storage and the flooring is wood. There is plenty of counter top space along with a sink and cook top. A microwave/convection oven is located in the overhead cabinetry. There is a separate built in ice maker located under the counter on the starboard side and a separate refrigerator and freezer are located under the counter on the port side of the galley.
Just forward of the galley on the starboard side is the head. The head offers direct entry from the companionway or directly from the master stateroom located all the way forward. The head features an electric toilet, a sink and vanity with mirror, wood flooring and storage cabinets.
Forward of the galley on the port side is the guest stateroom which features a double bed athwartships and a hanging locker. This room is carpeted and has a direct entrance into the shower compartment which is located just forward of the stateroom.
The master stateroom is located all the way forward in the companionway and has a centerline tapered queen bed with hanging lockers port and starboard and drawer storage under the bed. This room is carpeted and has direct access to the head compartment located to starboard and the separate shower compartment located to port.
Four Reel is a great example of this popular model. It has been well maintained, kept in a covered slip and is ready for cruising or fishing.
