Welcome aboard ‘Ocean Osprey’ a 2006 Selene 57, Hull number 27 — a true long-range passagemaker designed for serious cruising and extended time onboard in comfort and safety. ‘Ocean Osprey’ has been boathouse kept and shows the care of a knowledgeable owner.

As you step aboard, you immediately notice the solid, purposeful feel Selene is known for. Wide, well-protected side decks with high bulwarks and substantial handholds make moving forward safe and secure in all conditions.

Stepping aboard through fore or aft boarding gates on each side or from the wide swim step, you enter the large aft cockpit — a comfortable, protected space ideal for relaxing at anchor or preparing for a day underway. There’s ample room for a large table and chairs for outdoor dining and entertaining, a swim shower and a washdown spigot. From the cockpit molded steps lead easily to the boat deck, or forward to inside the salon. The large lazarette below the cockpit floor contains equipment including the diesel hydronic heater, watermaker and Glendinning cable master.

Entering the salon, you are welcomed by the exceptional teak joinery Selene yachts are known for. There is excellent headroom and the oversized windows flood the space with natural light. This is a warm, inviting living area designed for extended time aboard. The layout allows for both entertaining and quiet evenings, with comfortable seating and excellent visibility out to the water. A bench seat is located down the starboard side and the L-shaped settee with an expandable dining table is to port. The port settee can convert to a berth if extra guests are onboard.

Moving forward, the galley is to port and is well laid out for real meal preparation while cruising. It is a secure, practical, and well equipped galley, offering ample counter space, storage, a double stainless sink and proper appliances — everything required to prepare great meals comfortably whether underway or at anchor. Across from the galley to starboard is a large buffet/sideboard area with two drawer freezers, more counter space and additional drawers for galley items. The Selene commissary is accessed from the salon and offers an abundance of cabinets for more storage.

From here, step up into the pilothouse - where Selene truly shines. The helm offers outstanding visibility with clean sightlines forward, and a thoughtfully arranged navigation suite. A single Stidd chair behind the helm provides the captain with safe and comfortable seating in all conditions and a large elevated settee with table for guests allows them to be part of the action while Twin independent Furuno NavNet displays, and a dedicated touchscreen PC running TimeZero, provide powerful navigation and redundancy. The hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, along with Keypower stabilizers, provide confidence whether docking or running offshore. Two watertight Dutch doors offer direct access to either side decks and a staircase allows direct interior access to the flybridge and boat deck for crew safety. A pullout pilot berth behind the settee provides a close by off watch position for ocean crossings.

Heading below, the accommodations are designed for comfort and privacy. The full beam master stateroom is spacious and inviting, offering a walk around queen bed and generous storage with a private ensuite head and separate shower. Forward, to port the guest stateroom with twin offset bunks and a desk provides comfortable accommodations for family or friends and a space to work onboard. The VIP stateroom in the bow is as large and comfortable as many master cabins and the guest head with shower/tub ensures everyone aboard has space and convenience.

The engine room is accessed via a watertight door aft in the master stateroom and is a standout feature of this yacht. Powered by a single John Deere 6125 AFM electronic diesel producing up to 410 horsepower, ‘Ocean Osprey’ has the reliability and efficiency required for long-distance cruising. A Yanmar get-home engine with its own shaft and prop adds an extra layer of security, and the Northern Lights 12 KW generator ensures ample power at anchor. Systems are well laid out, clean, and easily serviced — exactly what experienced cruisers look for.

Accessed from either the interior staircase in the pilothouse or the staircase in the cockpit, the flybridge and boat deck offers an additional piloting station, a fabulous seating area and space for a tender and gear. The flybridge and seating areas provide great views and are protected by a full hardtop with full canvas enclosure allowing for use year round and regardless of the weather. There are two Todd chairs for the captain and mate as well as an L-shaped settee and custom wood table for guest. The custom designed folding mast and boom provides flexibility for bridge and boathouse clearance and versatility for launching the dinghy.

The Selene 57 ‘Ocean Osprey’ represents a rare opportunity to own a proven, well equipped ocean-capable trawler with thoughtful upgrades, excellent redundancy, and superb Selene craftsmanship. Whether your plans include coastal cruising, extended liveaboard adventures, or bluewater passagemaking, she can take you there — safely and in comfort.
