Boarding Jolly Mon from the swim platform, the aft deck provides a comfortable transition between the water and the yacht’s interior. A telescoping swim ladder, transom shower and dockside freshwater connection add convenience when swimming, handling the tender or returning aboard after a day ashore.
Entering the salon, you are immediately greeted by the warm, high-gloss cherry interior that gives the Navigator 5400 its distinctive character. Large windows bring abundant natural light into the space, creating an inviting setting for relaxing, entertaining or gathering with family and friends. Recent improvements include resealed salon and pilothouse windows, updated LED lighting, new salon blinds and a new icemaker.
Moving forward, the galley is conveniently positioned within the main living area, allowing the cook to remain part of the conversation while preparing meals. Nearby conveniences include a washer and dryer, central vacuum, charcoal freshwater filtration and updated water and holding-tank monitors. A hatch in the galley floor provides secondary access to the machinery spaces.
Steps lead upward to the raised pilothouse, one of the defining features of the Navigator 5400. The lower helm offers excellent visibility from its six-way electric Flexsteel helm seat and places the vessel’s updated navigation and operating systems within easy reach.
The pilothouse electronics include a Garmin GPSMAP 8616 multifunction display, Garmin Fantom 24X radar, Garmin VHF, Garmin GMX54 SiriusXM receiver, Garmin 800 AIS transponder and a Raymarine autopilot control head. Volvo EVC displays provide engine information, while bow and stern thruster controls assist with close-quarters maneuvering. A red overhead helm light and dedicated chart light support nighttime operation.
A pilothouse side door provides convenient access to the side deck, allowing the operator to move quickly from the helm when docking or handling lines. Boarding lights installed along the pilothouse side deck improve visibility and safety after dark.
From the pilothouse, stairs lead forward and below to Jolly Mon’s sleeping accommodations. The desirable three-stateroom layout includes two full-size queen berths and a separate bunk room with over-and-under berths, providing comfortable accommodations for owners, family and guests. Reading lights, generous storage and the yacht’s high-gloss cherry finish create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout this area.
Two heads serve the accommodations and feature Corian flooring, Corian vanities and GFCI-protected electrical outlets. Both heads are equipped with electric toilets, including a Raritan Elegance toilet installed in the forward head in 2022. The vessel also features updated wastewater-tank monitoring.
Returning to the pilothouse, access leads upward to the expansive flybridge. The upper helm provides a second operating station with twin helm seats, Garmin navigation equipment, Garmin VHF, Volvo engine information, bow and stern thruster controls and remote windlass operation.
A Garmin GC200 stern camera installed in 2024 adds visibility behind the vessel through the Garmin displays. Lighting beneath the radar arch extends the usefulness of the flybridge into the evening. The ability to operate from either the protected pilothouse or the open flybridge gives Jolly Mon excellent versatility as weather conditions and personal preferences change.
The side decks lead forward to the bow, where a stainless-steel rail with a welded center rung provides security. The anchoring system includes 200 feet of 3/8-inch G4 chain replaced in 2024, windlass controls at both helm stations and a freshwater washdown for cleaning the anchor and chain during retrieval.
The engine room is accessible through its locking bulkhead door, with additional access available through the galley-floor hatch. The machinery space houses the twin Volvo diesel engines, built-in oil-change system, freshwater hose bib, updated lighting and stainless-steel through-hulls.
Jolly Mon’s upgraded cruising systems include a Magnum 3112 inverter/charger, two Epoch 460Ah lithium batteries, Starlink and a Seawater Pro Piranha 35-GPH watermaker. Extensive cooling-system service was completed in 2022, including service of both engines’ heat exchangers, intercoolers and oil coolers, along with new hoses and antifreeze.
From her spacious salon and three-stateroom accommodations to her protected pilothouse, open flybridge and accessible machinery spaces, Jolly Mon offers a practical and comfortable arrangement designed for extended cruising, seasonal living aboard and the Great Loop.
